Services Offered
1:1 Community Support
1:1 Community Support is a great option for those who want consistent weekly support with daily community tasks. If you want reliable transportation, support in staying safe in public areas like parking lots and street crossings, and flexible choices over how you spend your time, this is a great option for you.
This service is $35/ hour, and is charged under 331 for those who are Self Determined. Transportation is included in the hourly rate.
Service Examples:
Long Term Support
“When I leave my community college classes at 2:00 pm, I don’t want to go straight home. I want to go out for a walk, grab something to eat, and maybe go explore a new part of town or walk the beach. Even though I use Uber, I struggle with parking lot safety and getting lost, so having someone with me in the afternoons makes me feel safer.”
Mobility Training
“I have a great part time job now, and I want to save money by using the bus to get to my shifts. I have trouble remembering the routes and stops, and I’m not sure what I’d do if I got lost or missed a stop. I’d love to have someone with me to slowly get me comfortable using the bus independently, before phasing out over time.”
Small Social Groups
Small Social Group is for folks who have one or two friends they want to spend their afternoons and evenings with in the community. With a maximum group size of three clients to one support professional, these groups offer an organic, friendly, and flexible atmosphere. Decisions about where to go and what to do are made as a group.
This service is $40/ hour, and is charged under 331 for those who are Self Determined. Transportation is included in the hourly rate.
*Clients are responsible for their own tickets and expenses incurred at events
Service Examples:
Group of Friends
“ I love seeing my friends at my day program, and I want to keep hanging out with them in the afternoons. It’d be great to have someone who can drive us, pitch fun ideas of what to do, and help us out with things like staying on budget at restaurants.”
Meeting New People
“I just graduated from Adult Transition Program, and all my friends live far way now. I’d love to occasionally join a small group to make new friends doing fun activities like going to karaoke, farmer’s markets, or a Padres game.”
